Welcome to Dona. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal or usage data on our own servers. We don’t run a backend for Dona, and we do not profile, sell, or share your data.
Data you create in the app (e.g., tasks, notes, schedules, app preferences) stays on your device and, if you enable iCloud, is synced using Apple’s CloudKit Private Database associated with your Apple ID. We (the developer) cannot read the contents of your private iCloud database.
2. Local & iCloud Storage
- Local by default. All data you create in Dona is saved locally on your iPhone or iPad and works fully offline.
- Optional iCloud sync. If iCloud Drive is enabled for Dona, your data is synced via CloudKit Private Database tied to your Apple ID. This uses Apple’s infrastructure; data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple.
- No developer access. We do not operate servers for Dona and we cannot access your CloudKit private records.
- Backups. If you enable iCloud or device backups, your data may be included in your own backups; we have no access to those.
Note: CloudKit uses silent push notifications to keep data in sync. These are handled by Apple and are not used for marketing.
3. Notifications
- Dona may use local notifications for reminders you configure (e.g., morning/evening summaries).
- We do not use third-party push providers or marketing notifications.
- You can change notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
